If I were to compare the style to Mexican food, if Mexican food were a street taco, Baja Fresh is a fajita. Sure, they both serve "Baja" style food shrimp, steak (high quality carne asada), or chicken. I've heard Baja Fresh compared to Rubio's. There's just something about a Steak Baja Burrito that satisfies my soul. I've eaten Baja Fresh probably 100 times since 2000, and the Baja Burrito is just as good now as it was back then. The quality is definitely above what I consider "fast food." Your order is made fresh, the ingredients taste fresh, the salsa bar is always well maintained, and of course, the chips and salsa that come with most orders. 23 years later, it's still one of my top 5 favorite "fast food" places to eat.
